Maweni Regional Referral Hospital, Kigoma (TZ)

Maweni Regional Referral Hospital is in the town of Kigoma. Located on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, Kigoma is the most western point in Tanzania. It has 300 beds and is a very important healthcare for this rural and large Western Zonal area. Recent investment has allowed significant refurbishment and expansion of the hospital, which now has excellent facilities. During the 2023 TSA Conference in Dodoma, Dr Frank learned of the TNMHP / AMHSI project and was keen to become a partner in this work. The very successful induction took place in June 2024, with Maweni RRH enrolled as TNMHP centre.
