Dr Ravindranath R. Tongaonkar (1939-2020)

We were very sad to hear of the passing of Dr Ravindranath R. Tongaonkar on 7th September 2020 in India at the age of 81 from COVID-19. An inspirational Surgeon, Ravi was a pioneer of ‘mosquito net’ mesh hernia repair and very generously supported our project. He was a dedicated surgeon, working almost until the day of his death. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy and we hope to work with his family and continue to realise his vision. Here’s to you Ravi, may you rest in peace while your work continues.
