Following the TSA Meeting, Mugisha was again in high demand as the following week he was needed in Arusha for the 2025 Medical Association of Tanzania (MAT) National Congress. He has been very busy as the current MAT President, with a lot of work culminating in this incredibly important event. It is 60 years since the formation of MAT, during which time healthcare in Tanzania has been transformed significantly. The country has navigated multiple incredibly challenging, and damaging, major epidemics including HIV, Malaria and TB. Whilst there is much ongoing work in that regard, so much has been achieved. Despite the recent challenges of COVID (which could perhaps be considered minor in comparison), Tanzania is in a incredibly important and exciting period of healthcare development. With so much still to do, Mugisha is at the forefront, helping to shape the narrative and leading many of the critical discussions that inform how thinking and resources are focused and managed.
