Koidu Government Hospital, Kono (S/L)

Koidu Government Hospital, Kono, Sierra Leone, is a busy referral hospital in the east of Sierra Leone. It is a shining light in the country’s healthcare system that has been ravaged by the historical civil war and ebola epidemic. We were delighted to be invited here to begin the Sierra Leone Mesh Hernia Pilot Project in June 2023. The first mesh went in on the 2nd June 2023. This was also the first hernia repair performed anywhere in programme to be entered into our bespoke eRegistry.
